Notice of Data Security Incident

Gaedeke Group, LLC (“Gaedeke”) recently discovered an incident that may have involved the personal information of some of its employees, suppliers, or other individuals. Gaedeke is working to identify potentially affected individuals to provide notice of the incident and steps Gaedeke has taken to address the incident, as well as guidance on what individuals can do to protect themselves.

Gaedeke recently learned that an unauthorized third party gained access to certain Gaedeke employees’ email accounts. Upon discovering the incident, Gaedeke promptly secured the email accounts and began an internal investigation. Gaedeke also engaged a forensic security firm to investigate the incident and confirm the security of its email and computer systems. Based on the investigation, Gaedeke determined that the email accounts contained, depending on the individual, name, address, Social Security number, driver’s license number, passport number, and certain medical information. Gaedeke is notifying those individuals whose personal information was contained in the email accounts and for whom it has contact information.

Potentially involved individuals may wish to review the tips provided by the Federal Trade Commission (“FTC”) on fraud alerts, security/credit freezes and steps that they can take to avoid identity theft.
