Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson is extending its lease and expanding its space at Museum Tower in downtown Miami, its headquarters since 1987.

The law firm has renewed for 10 years and expanded by 7,000 square feet to 110,000 square feet at 150 W. Flagler St.

Firm co-founder Eugene Stearns said the firm did not look at any other buildings.

"We've been very happy here," he said. "We're very conveniently located near the courthouse, and 100 percent of our staff can park in the building. In other buildings, they could park two or three blocks away. And our clients like getting in and out of here quickly."

The firm plans to make substantial improvements to lawyer floors, Stearns added.

CREC president and co-founder Carol Brooks and shareholder and senior vice president Steven Hurwitz represented Stearns Weaver in the transaction.

Gaedeke Group vice president Kirk Fetter represented the building owner, Gaedeke Holdings Ltd.

Stearns Weaver has 100 lawyers in offices in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa and Tallahassee.
